Although this photo shoot seems to be spellbound with the magic of Photoshop, photographer Robert Bosch captured these advertising images in 2014 for a campaign for a mountaineering brand in Switzerland called Mammut, a job that would have been impossible to achieve without the entire team of perfectly coordinated climbers in the Swiss Alps.
Racing against time and against the extreme conditions that prevail in the place, the team demonstrated their skill in mountain climbing with hikes in the heights, hanging from the suspension ropes in specific positions and forming beautiful silhouettes scattered over the snowy landscape.
The extreme photo shoot commemorates the 150th anniversary of the first ascent to the summit of the Matterhorn, by Edward Whymper and his team. Robert captured the team of mountaineers at specific locations, holding lanterns and illuminating the route Whymper traveled a century and a half earlier. The carefully detailed photographs are not only a tribute to all those brave people who climbed the Matterhorn (the most famous peak in the Swiss Alps) in the past, they also serve as inspiration for adventurers who dream of reaching the summit in the future.
