The following video shows a very simple and useful tip, which can make an expression stop looking fearful and start communicating confidence.
The photographer Peter Hurley teaches us some quite curious techniques and, although it may seem incredible, with excellent results. In his latest video, he explains the squinch method, a word “created” by him to refer to the contraction of the eyes.
Hurley says many people simply open their eyes when they’re in front of the camera. Then, he explains the natural and ideal look that should be used when taking a photo (minute 2:11). Also, he says that it may seem strange, but that a little squeeze on the eyes makes a lot of sense and that celebrities often do the same when photographed. Be?
The thing is, apparently, wide-open eyes show fear, while more closed eyes express the idea of trust. The examples start at 4:22 and continue basically until the end of the video. Take a look at the images below and then let us know if you think this idea of closing your eyes a bit makes any sense.
