Last week, the Mountain View-based company held Google I/O 2024, a developer conference during which the second Beta version of Android 15 was presented, a variant that came loaded with new features, among which we must highlight the “Private Space”, the “App Pairs” or new features to protect the user against scams and frauds such as Google Play Protect’s live threat detection.
Well, just a week later, Google has just released Android 15 Beta 2.1, a minor update that arrives to fix several bugs detected in Beta 2 and that can now be downloaded on all compatible Google Pixels.
Android 15 Beta 2.1 arrives to improve the new “Private Space”
Android 15 Beta 2.1 arrives with the most recent security patch, the one corresponding to the month of May 2024, has a download size of about 12 MB and focuses on fixing a bug that, when creating a “Private Space” for the first time, the application icons disappeared from the home screen or screens of the terminal.
“This minor update in Android 15 Beta 2 fixes an issue where creating a private space on a device for the first time would remove app icons from the home screen (or home screens if more than one was added).”
Likewise, the big G has taken the opportunity to give us some tips on how to use the “Private Space”, which we will list below:
- If you’ve hidden a private space and don’t know how to recover it, type ‘Private Space’ into the search bar and tap on ‘Private Space: Tap to set up or open’
- If you forgot the unlock factor of the Private Space, you can delete it from the path: Settings-System-Reset options-Delete Private Space, using the unlock factor of your mobile device
- You can install a private space version for an app you have outside of your private space by long-pressing the app icon and tapping on the Install private option
