The world is currently immersed in unbridled space development. Rocket launches are constant and the sky is more plagued than ever with hundreds and thousands of satellites. However, this powerful development has led to more and more errors due to not planning some missions or investigations well. Recently, China has experienced something like this, but it has not been the only country to do so, since the United States and, fundamentally, SpaceX, also constantly suffer from this type of problem.
A worrying accident
At the end of June, a Chinese company known as Tianbing Aerospace Technology made a mistake during a test and launched its Tianlong-3 rocket uncontrollably. Fortunately it ended without regretting human lives, but the rocket separated dramatically from its launch pad and plunged into a nearby mountain, precipitating as we can see in this video from X – formerly Twitter – and in a statement from the company itself.
The videos have attracted attention because of the violence and power of the space launch. In fact, it caused a fire that looked quite spectacular. Fortunately, all this happened quite far from the urban centers, which, on the other hand, saw him quite surprised. If the rocket’s route had been different, perhaps quite a few victims would have been lamented.
The Tianlong-3 is a rocket that is not very large and its usefulness is like that of SpaceX’s Falcons: launching satellites into orbit. It is reusable and uses liquid fuel to launch into orbit. At the moment, it is one of the most famous and developed in China, becoming a source of pride for this industry.
Accidents that could jeopardize human safety
A few months ago we talked about what would happen if a Starship rocket fell on Earth and that is that it could cause a catastrophe the size of a nuclear bomb. We are currently at a point in the space race where China and the United States are trying hard to boost their industry, and that is bringing many potentially problematic tests forward on the calendar.
The world has not experienced such a great space effervescence since the 50s and 60s of the last century. This has led to more and more satellites in orbit and a certain democratization of orbital launch. But it also entails risks.
In fact, at SpaceX it constantly has injuries among its workers to try to meet deadlines. So it is not only China, but the whole world that poses a worrying situation. Although it is true that Chinese rockets have rushed towards Earth more constantly in recent years.
