DJI integrates a lot of technology and a new Avinox drivetrain of its own manufacture
As a manufacturer specializing in drones and stabilization systems for cameras, it has been a natural process for DJI to enter the personal mobility vehicle industry, as they themselves claim to master all the essential technologies that make up an electric mountain bike today. Thus, the Chinese firm presents us with a bicycle that is among the best on the market in terms of its weight/power ratio, as the whole set remains at 19.2 kilograms with a maximum power of 850 watts provided by the Avinox Drive System designed by DJI.
The rated power is 250 watts, with a maximum torque of 105 Nm and a minimized motor that weighs only 2.52 kilograms, providing the rider with power and lightness on the most demanding terrain. In fact, the frame weighs only 2.27 kilos, while another key component such as the battery is satisfied with 2.87 kilograms.
The bike features a planetary gear system to offer a smooth ride and maximum confidence to the rider, something necessary with such a large amount of power. Not surprisingly, DJI’s system and its intelligent assistance algorithm offers unparalleled differentiation, taking advantage of multiple sensors to automatically assist at all times and keep the speed stable according to our pedaling.
It has four assistance modes, Auto, Eco, Trail and Turbo, as well as a temporary Boost mode that allows us to have power peaks when needed. All this with two high-density battery options, 600 or 800 Wh with fast charging, but without specifying the mileage ranges for now.
This Amflow PL has FOX suspensions and shock absorbers, components signed by SRAM such as the GX Eagle drivetrain and compatibility with 27.5 or 29-inch wheels according to the rider’s own choice.
The Avinox app will allow you to control all the parameters of the bike.
It is impressive that DJI has thought of everything with its Avinox systems, and it is that the user will have a Walk mode that will help him climb slopes easily by grabbing the bike, in addition to a hill start system that prevents backing up on the slopes when we try to start the march.
There is an application to control all kinds of settings and statistics, as well as a 2-inch OLED screen integrated into the frame and that will act as a control center. DJI has only wanted to announce for now its new brand Amflow and the Avinox system, presenting us with this first bike with the designation ‘PL’ that will be launched throughout the fourth quarter of 2024 only in selected markets.
The manufacturer mentions Germany, the United Kingdom and Australia, without further information about Spain and the rest of Europe or Latin America.
