Gemini suggestions based on what’s on screen
Thanks to the Google Gemini app, you will have an artificial intelligence assistant integrated into your smartphone and available at any time. Right now, Gemini users have the ability to generate custom images on the go, get help finding the right words to write, tap on a photo to learn more about it, and even take action in Google apps like Gmail, Maps, Drive, or Docs.
However, users of the new Galaxy Z series will soon also be able to receive important suggestions based on what they have on screen. That is, if you’re watching something on YouTube, you’ll see a suggestion that says “Ask about this video,” which you can also move around for a split-screen experience. To make Gemini appear, it’s as easy as saying “Hey Google” or, if you prefer, swiping your finger across the corner of the phone’s screen.
Search without switching apps with the “Circle to Search” feature
One of the best new features of the Galaxy S24 was “Circle to Search”, an intelligent search function that Samsung introduced at the beginning of the year, which allows you to search without changing applications. Surely you are thinking that it is magic, but it is much easier: you will simply have to draw a circle around anything you see on the screen and are interested in, thus starting the related search.
“Circle to Search” already has translation features and help with physics and math homework, but starting this July, it’s getting even smarter: it will help you learn about more convoluted topics, such as symbolic math, and scan barcodes and QR codes. It supports the new generation of foldables, but is expected to reach more Samsung devices by the end of 2024.
The new Galaxy Watch7, the first to integrate Wear OS 5
Last May, at the famous annual Google I/O 2024 developer conference, the latest version of Google’s operating system for smartwatches was presented: Wear OS 5. Among many other things, this new software has made great strides in terms of customization, performance, and energy efficiency, thus bringing longer battery life to these devices.
Well, the first smartwatches to test Wear OS 5 will be the ones that make up Samsung’s recently launched lineup: the Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch7 Ultra.
