iOS 18 would also arrive with changes to Control Center and the Settings app

iOS 18 would be one of the biggest updates ever, thanks to new AI features and a revamp of Siri. In addition, other changes are coming such as the ability to customize the home screen, change the color of app icons, and a revamp of the Control Center and the Settings app.

The iPhone’s Control Center would be revamped with a new widget for Apple Music, as well as new controls for HomeKit-compatible accessories. The analyst is also betting on a revamp of the Settings app, similar to the one expected for macOS 15.

iOS 18 will also change Control Center and the Settings app

Mark Gurman notes in his official bulletin that iOS 18 will arrive with changes to the iPhone’s Settings app, offering a cleaner interface and an improved browser, something that is also expected in macOS 15. However, in this case, nothing is said about the change and reorganization of sections that we would see in macOS.

On the other hand, iOS 18 will also modify the Control Center. While it wouldn’t be customizable as has been rumored before, it would bring changes such as a new widget for Apple Music and new controls to manage HomeKit-compatible accessories.

While the exact Control Center changes aren’t specified, Apple could well make Apple Music’s ‘Now Playing’ widget increase in size. Currently, it’s in the top right corner and it’s too small for the importance it has. It could be the size of two small widgets and perhaps display the album art that’s playing.

Finally, the Settings app could be simplified a bit and perhaps the visualOS transparencies could be added to it. Although the current search engine is quite good, from time to time it doesn’t show what you want and you have to search for it manually. These changes to two fundamental parts of the system would be very welcome.
