A beautiful design and a solvent photographic section is usually what catches our attention when choosing a smartphone, but we should not overlook one of the decisive components for our device to run smoothly: the processor. And for this we have AnTuTu, the benchmarking platform that publishes a ranking of the 10 most powerful mobile phones on the market globally every month. Very attentive, because we are going to find out what they are.
Based on the scores obtained by AnTuTu Benchmark, its performance test, the platform has just shared a list of the best phones of the month of June. As it would not be fair to compare a premium range phone with a less ambitious one, the ranking is divided into two lists: on the one hand, the flagships, and on the other, the devices framed in the medium-high range of telephony.
The ASUS ROG 8 Pro is the most powerful premium mobile
As of today, the award for the best performance on the market goes to a gaming mobile: the ASUS ROG 8 Pro, equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The silver and bronze medals in this segment go to the OPPO Find X7, which in February reached the top of this ranking, and the iQOO Neo9S Pro, respectively. Both rely on the best chip launched to date by MediaTek, although the iQOO model enjoys the most advanced version of the Taiwanese company: the Dimensity 9300+.
Fourth place goes to the nubia RedMagic 9 Pro+, a phone that has been around the list for several months and contains a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, just like the iQOO 12, located in seventh place. This Chinese company is the only one that can boast of having three models of the same series in the ranking: the vivo X100 Ultra, X100 Pro and X100, which occupy the fifth, sixth and eighth position, with the most premium having the famous Snapdragon chipset and the other two MediaTek. The lowest rungs correspond to the OnePlus 12 and the OPPO Find X7 Ultra, both again with Qualcomm’s top processor.
As you can see, there are six devices equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and only four with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 or 9300+. Therefore, the chips of the American semiconductor company have more presence than those of the Taiwanese company in these flagships, which are currently the best performing phones on the market.
In the upper-middle range, the winner is the OnePlus Ace 3V
If we go down a notch and place ourselves in the medium-high range of the telephony market, the mobile with the best performance in AnTuTu is the OnePlus Ace 3V, a very recent device that has a processor from the American company: the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. It is closely followed by the realme GT Neo6 SE, with a silver medal and relying on the same chipset, and the Redmi K70E with the bronze, which in this case bets on a MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra.
We find ourselves again with a realme and a Redmi in fourth and fifth position, the GT Neo5 SE and the Note 12 Turbo, both equipped with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. The next three smartphones, which are ranked sixth to ninth, rely on a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor: they are the OPPO Reno12, the iQOO Z8, the iQOO Neo7 SE and the Redmi Note 12T Pro. The one in charge of closing the ranking is a OnePlus Ace of the year 2022, which has a Dimensity 8100-Max directing its innards.
In this case, we find two Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processors and two Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processors, the just previous generation from Qualcomm. Therefore, within the medium-high range of the best performing mobiles on the market today, the winner is MediaTek, with a total of six devices. In addition, there is quite a disparity of models: Dimensity 8300-Ultra (1), Dimensity 8200 (4) and Dimensity 8100-Max (1).
